A SUSTAINABLE MISSION

"To leave the world a bit better, whether by a healthy child, a garden patch, or a redeemed social condition; to know that even one life has breathed easier because you have lived - that is to have succeeded"
Ralph Waldo Emerson

WE BELIEVE THAT DOING GOOD IS JUST GOOD BUSINESS.

We are proud to be a business which makes a positive environmental, social and ethical impact.

Our proactive, positive impact choices include:

CHOOSING PARTNERS WHO SHARE OUR VALUES

We only work with environmentally and socially responsible suppliers, manufacturers and partners who pay fairly, use chemicals safely and minimise waste where possible.

We are proud to manufacture our products in London. Our chosen factory powers its machines through solar energy and recycles and regenerates unused fabrics to minimise its waste contribution.

SELECTING SUSTAINABLE, ECO-FRIENDLY FABRICS

We use sustainable, eco-friendly fabrics in all our swimwear.

The fabrics used for our first collection are made from fibres from recycled and regenerated consumer waste materials, such as fishing nets. These fabrics are twice as resistant to chlorine, sun cream and oil than standard lycra as well as being better for the planet! So you look great and the oceans look better, too.

DEVELOPING A PLASTIC-FREE PACKAGING SOLUTION

We have chosen 100% reusable and recyclable packaging to send you your swimwear. From the kraft delivery box to the tissue paper and recyclable packing tape, we have thought about how we can minimise our environmental impact at every stage of delivery, without detracting from the important unboxing experience we want to offer you.

We have proactively chosen to reduce the components of our packaging in order to minimise the level of waste we create on your behalf. You might notice that we do not include swing tags or plastic packing bags - all of which contribute to landfill.

RAISING AWARENESS FOR AN IMPORTANT CAUSE

Since our very first collection, we have partnered with CoppaFeel! (the breast cancer awareness and education charity) to help raise awareness of the signs and symptoms of breast cancer.

We realised we could have a significant positive health and social impact through our product labelling and so we joining CoppaFeel! in their #BraHijack campaign, incorporating a boob checking reminder in every D&B label, and including a Boob Checking Card (recyclable) in every D&B order.

We are always looking for more ways to improve our proactive positive impact. If you have a suggestion for us, please get in touch via hello@deakinandblue.com. We'd love to hear from you.
