Adya's body story" I think that when I discovered kayaking, I started to become more open. When I started doing sport, I saw people engaging with each other in a very different way. And so, I've kind of shed – almost to the other extreme – all that cultural baggage. I’ve been reflecting more on that transformation recently, because I sometimes think of my younger self and how different she was – very naïve, very innocent, always trying to be a wallflower and happy to be indoors. People who meet me now don’t believe it, but it's true. People would have to push me to talk to people; I just wasn’t that confident.
Now, I love. just not caring about how other people feel about things that actually have nothing to do with them. It's a powerful feeling, on reflection."
