BEHIND THE SCENES: #BreastCancerAwarenessMonth

October 01, 2017

Deakin and Blue Breast Cancer Awareness Month CoppaFeel!

It's October and so that means that as well as summer being officially on the way out, and the countdown to Christmas on the way in (I know, terrifying), it's also Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

We're working with the Breast Cancer Awareness and Education Charity, CoppaFeel!, to help raise awareness of the signs and symptoms of breast cancer - so that you know what feels normal and when something doesn't.

Get Involved

This October there are plenty of fantastic initiatives to get involved with:

  • Grab your ticket for Festifeel - a one day music, poetry, art and boob chat festival taking place on 14th October with Busted, Pixie Lott, Fearne Cotton and more.
  • Host a Boob Brunch with your friends for a morning of all things brekkie and boobs!
  • Sign up for a Sporting Challenge - round up some friends and take on a new challenge together, all while raising money for this amazing cause.

Check Yourself

As well as helping raise awareness and money, make sure you take the time to get familiar with the signs and symptoms of breast cancer.

We've shared a handy reminder of what you should be looking and feeling for, here:

Deakin and Blue CoppaFeel! Boob Check

We recommend checking on a regular, weekly basis so that you become familiar with what your boobs normally look and feel like. You're then in a good position to know if something feels different, and if it does - head straight to your GP.

What We're Doing

Every Deakin and Blue cossie comes with a #BraHijack label reminding you to check your boobs on a regular basis.

We also give away free boob checking cards with every order. These handy cards are perfect for popping in your purse and keeping to hand so that you are familiar with the signs and symptoms of breast cancer.

Get involved this October and help raise awareness and support women with Breast Cancer.
